Board report for Apache UIMA, for June 2018.

Apache UIMA's mission: the creation and maintenance of open-source software
related to the analysis of unstructured data, guided by the UIMA Oasis
Standard.

## PMC changes:

 - Currently 16 PMC members.
 - No new PMC members added in the last 3 months
 - Last PMC addition was Lou DeGenaro on Mon May 02 2016

## Committer base changes:

 - Currently 24 committers.
 - No new committers added in the last 3 months
 - Last committer addition was William Colen at Wed Apr 19 2017

 ## Releases:

 - UIMA Asynchronous Scaleout (UIMA-AS) 2.10.3 was released on Mon Apr 16 2018
 - UIMA-DUCC 2.2.2 was released on Sun Mar 18 2018
 - UIMA ConceptMapper addon 2.10.2 was released 27 April 2018

Activity: Java SDK, UIMA-FIT, UIMA-AS, DUCC, RUTA are actively being worked
on.

  uimaFIT moved to GIT from SVN, the first project within UIMA to do so.

  Mailing list activity remains moderate.

    We investigated GDPR impacts on our website, and decided to be prudent and
    removed our Google Analytics which we were not using very much, and
    changed our Twitter "widget" (which seemed to store / send various user
    -related data) to a plain link.

    This latter change was unfortunate, as the widget use to display recent
    tweets. It would be good if Apache figures out a global
    "it's-ok-to-do-this" set of policies/best practices for this.

Community: The community continues to be moderately active.
