Brief overview of the IaaS cloud API landscape, and an introduction to DMTF CIMI touching on usage, support by Deltacloud, and availability across Deltacloud's backends.
Standardization in the IaaS cloud API space is still in its infancy, with many plausible candidates for a standard. The Cloud Infrastructure Management Interface (CIMI) is a standard by the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF). Deltacloud offers a frontend based on CIMI. In this talk, I will give an introduction to this API, which is going to see wide support in the industry once it's an official DMTF standard. The talk will explain how Deltacloud supports this API, what users can do with it, and with which backend clouds Deltacloud's implementation can be used.
