Derby 10 Core Plug-in for Eclipse
Overview
The Apache Derby Core Plug-in for Eclipse allows the Derby jars to be available to the Eclipse platform through a standard plug-in.
Functionality
This 'core' plug-in consists of all the Derby related jars and can be used in Eclipse projects for:
- database application development
- plug-in development with the Derby 'core' plug-in as its dependency
Components
The Apache Derby Core Plug-in for Eclipse consists of a zip file containing the plugin. Information for the most recent version as of this writing is listed below.

Software Requirements
- Java Development Kit
- Sun JDK version 1.3.x or higher
- IBM SDK version 1.3.x or higher
- Eclipse from eclipse.org
- Eclipse 3.1 M6 or higher
Install
Download the Derby core plug-in zip from the Apache Derby site: http://db.apache.org/derby/derby_downloads.html. The plug-in is available for download from each Derby release download page.
After downloading, unzip the file to the Eclipse installation directory. The zip file will unpack to create a new subdirectory under the plugins directory of the Eclipse installation.
Launch Eclipse, if Eclipse was already running while unzipping the file, please re-start it.
